Junior Software Engineer

Stealth Power is a fast-growing hybrid power technology startup located in Austin, TX. We design and build idle mitigation and hybrid power solutions to help the largest vehicle fleets in the world run on clean energy, ending our over-reliance on fossil fuels, and working towards a fully electric future.

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer who is passionate about clean energy technologies to help Stealth Power to create and manage our next generation of idle mitigation and hybrid power solutions. This position will report to Stealth Power’s CTO, Tres Hill and will encompass embedded software and full-stack software engineering responsibilities within an Agile development environment.  

As part of the broader engineering team, you will support new system releases and the roll out of new firmware and software solutions. Stealth Power follows industry best practices for the development of software, and it is a great environment to learn the craft of software engineering. As a Junior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of new software engineering tasks with the full support of a very experienced team of engineers.

About This Role

  • Your day-to-day role will involve designing, developing, and testing software solutions using Agile methodologies while also conforming with existing code implementation strategies, and best practices.
  • You will also gain experience with other software engineering activities such as integration testing, algorithm & data analysis, software/hardware troubleshooting, and preparing/reviewing documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Most of our integrated development environment (IDE) solutions, test hardware and drivers will run on Windows or Linux based operating systems.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in CS (Computer Science), CE (Computer Engineering), or other scientific degree with suitable software engineering content
  • 2-5 years of work experience
  • Software coding experience with knowledge of object-oriented design/development using modern programming languages (C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
  • Natural curiosity combined with a willingness to learn new things and to find creative solutions for problems
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion
